Terms of Use

Last updated: 24 September 2026

1. Scope

These terms apply to the use of the website taktsmith.com and the browser-based Taktsmith workbench (together the "Service"), provided by Thorsten Meyer, Blombergstrasse 11 C, 82393 Iffeldorf, Germany.

2. The Service

Taktsmith is a simulation and planning tool for industrial robot cells. It is currently offered free of charge as a preview. Features may change, be extended or be discontinued at any time. There is no entitlement to a particular availability.

3. Permitted use

You may use the Service for evaluating, learning, planning and engineering purposes. You must not attempt to disrupt the Service, circumvent technical protections or use it for unlawful purposes.

4. Your content and outputs

Models, layouts, scripts and files you create with the workbench are computed locally and belong to you. Generated robot programs (KRL, RAPID, URScript), CAD scripts and IFC files are provided as drafts; you are responsible for reviewing them before use.

5. No engineering or safety certification

Simulation results, cycle times, reach and collision checks and safety calculations are models of reality, not guarantees. They do not replace a risk assessment, CE conformity assessment, validation on the real robot controller or the judgement of qualified personnel. Never run generated robot code without verifying it in the manufacturer's own simulator and under safe conditions. See also the Disclaimer.

6. Intellectual property

The software, texts, images and design of the Service are protected by copyright. Third-party components are used under their respective open-source licences (e.g. three.js under the MIT licence). Product names of robot manufacturers are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only descriptively.

7. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential obligations, limited to the foreseeable, typical damage. Otherwise liability is excluded. As the Service is provided free of charge, liability for slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law (§§ 521, 599 BGB by analogy).

8. Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. Should individual provisions be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain effective.
